G2/Nord Modular vs. NI Reaktor compare/vergleich

comparing the G2, Nord modular (G1?) and Native Instruments Reaktor.

imo it’s quite a hard thing to really compare part by part..
the main thing is – the philosophy of the „opponents“

the g2 is def’ly made for live performance and stability..
and so is the software..

reaktor is more for the most atomic changes .. but you need to pay the price of more work / time to find a solution in your patch.. why? you have macros that incorporate quite more basic modules than the g2 has as „smallest element“..
also the g2 does not handle samples.. reaktor does!

but: g2 is much more stable than reaktor (sorry, but thats true.. I am running r4 .. side by side with the nm and sooooon the g2)..

back on topic: well.. I believe it’s more a good „friendship“ of not toooo similar concepts..
reaktor has still more things that you can do.. but.. I would not dare to really put reaktor on stage..
right now.. it’s btw. very hard to get former reaktor 3 up to 4 and from os9 to os x at the same time!! I still did not manage to do so.. so it’s on the pc only right now ..
anyway.. it offers things like vsynth-sample treatment „granualar“ etc.. that the g2 „lacks“..
but strange: I am using the NM (and g2 soon) more often: it is the fastest and best GUI ever made for a digital modular!! fast’n’easy..

that’s what I can say.. ;) G2 und die anderen: alter modular und reaktor… und NM gegen G2 und kompatibeiltät..

G2 oder native instruments reaktor?
grob gesehen: es gibt generell mehr möglichkeiten im reaktor, aber der g2 ist in der tat performance orientiert und bietet das auch ,wenn der computer ausgeschaltet ist.. meint: auf der bühne kann man damit ordentlich arbeiten..
mit reaktor traute ich mich bisher nicht auf die bühne.. (mac version)
insgesamt kann vorallem reaktor mit samples ne was anfangen,der g2 nicht..
dennoch hat er sehr viel potential.. und: er ist wesentlich angenehmer in der bedienung,was aber auch ein teil der tieferen möglichkeiten in reaktor ist (denn dort lassen sich zB auch „makro“-artige dinge denken und diese dann zusammenbauen.. im NM ist man direkt auf der atomaren ebene..
flexibel sind sie beide.
auch ,wenn es auch anders geht wären die grobe anhaltpunkte:

• bedienung,livetauglichkeit und schneller am ziel: g2
• komplexer und mehr möglichkeiten: reaktor
  ps: ich nutze beide!! und gern! ich mein den alten nm, .. der g2 ist nun raus.. und kommt als weiterer „gegner“ hinzu.. dazu am besten die details hier lesen!..

G2 gegen den „alten“ nord modular..

spricht nichts dagegen, fehlen tuen reverb und lange delays, man kann also dennoch einfache physical modelling algorithmen auch im alten nord modular bauen.. die oberfläche ist anders: lauflichtsequencer gibt es vorallem als master und so von aussen änderbar im NM nicht, man kann sie aber als slave laufen lassen und auch von aussen „midi-clocken“, nicht aber umgekehrt. das ändern von sequenzen im alten NM ist nicht möglich. ansonsten sind alle module leicht oder etwas mehr als leicht geändert, das meiste,was ein NM KANN,kann ein G2 erst recht,aber man muss es eben „nachbauen“ und dann anpassen: dies aber nur grob gesagt.. details im synthesizerforum und hier

NM vs. G2
kompatibel? die patches der NM kann man nicht in dern G2 laden, denn alle oder fast alle moduile sind neu programmiert worden, dafür können sie DSP power sparen bei nichtnutzung bestimmter funktionen oder modulationen. es gibt auch ,wenn es einen konverter gäbe (nicht geplant,aber machbar) eine notwendigkeit die sounds neu zu justieren! meint: sie klängen nicht gleich! auch bei gleichen patches.
